Fall Fun and Halloween Costumes @ LHF- Friday, October 30, 2026
Students are invited to wear Fall colours (black, orange, red, browns etc…) or our School Colours/clothing on Friday, October 30. For students who celebrate Halloween, if they wish to come to school on this day in costume, th
ey are invited to do so.
When planning costumes, please keep the following in mind:
- that no replica weapons of any kind are allowed
- costumes should be respectful of others
- symbols or objects representative of a person’s culture or religious beliefs should not be worn as a costume nor should costumes that caricature social identities through stereotyping
- in the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation, it is important that costumes do not trivialize and devalue the lives of Indigenous peoples in Canada
- costumes should not should not overemphasize the scary aspects
- No Halloween masks are to be worn
- Students should only use single use make-up (no sharing of make-up).
- Costumes should be of simple design (to limit personal items being brought to school)
- Please do not send your child to school with or in:
- A long or restrictive costume (these can lead to trips and falls)
- An inflatable costume

Attendance and Student Safe Arrival
Late Arrivals
If your child arrives after the 9:20 a.m. bell, they are considered late. Please have only your child go to the main entrance and use the buzzer. A staff member will sign in your child.
We would like to remind families to report any student absences using Edsby, by calling the school or sending an email to the school mailbox: louis.honore.frechette.ps@yrdsb.ca
As per Board Policy and Procedures #665.0, Safe Arrivals and Departures – Elementary and Secondary Students, if your child’s absence is still not verified even after exhausting different steps to connect with the family, York Regional Police will be contacted and may be dispatched to your residence.
We remind parent(s)/guardian(s) to update the school with all emergency contact information when changes are made. Thank you for your cooperation in reporting student absences.
Contact Information
Please ensure we have your most current contact information on file, including parent/guardian and emergency contacts. Send an email to the school to update this information.
Entry to the School
To ensure the safety and security of all students and staff, all parents, caregivers, and visitors must enter the school exclusively through the main front doors. When you arrive, please use the buzzer and wait for a member of our office staff to buzz you in. All visitors must report directly to the office upon arrival.
Please note that no entry to the school is permitted through the Kids Come First Child Care Centre doors or through the Kids Come First classrooms.
If you drive or walk your child to school, please drop them off at the Conley gate after 9:05 a.m. Adults are expected to remain outside the gate unless otherwise instructed by staff on duty.
If you are picking up a child from a childcare program and need to enter the main school building (e.g., to pick up another student), you must exit through the Kids Come First doors, walk around to the front main entrance, and ring the buzzer. Families attempting to enter the main school halls through the childcare doors will be redirected outside and to the main entrance.
Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our school environment safe for everyone.

We extend our thanks to these parents and all voting members for taking on leadership roles and supporting our school community.
All parents and guardians are welcome to attend School Council meetings! You do not need to hold a formal position to participate. We encourage you to join us.
